Why Feedjot puts your link in the first reply

X shows posts that contain a link to fewer people than posts without one. So Feedjot can post your link as a first reply under the opening post instead of inside the main post — keeping your reach on the post itself. On LinkedIn, the same option puts your link in the first comment.

Quick answer

Write your thread with the link in its own final post. When Feedjot sees a link there, it turns on Put link in first reply automatically. On X the link post is published as a reply to your first post; on LinkedIn it becomes the first comment. To keep the link inside the main post instead, uncheck the toggle.

Why this helps

A post with an outbound link tends to be shown to a smaller audience than the same post without one. Putting the link one step away — in a reply on X, or in the first comment on LinkedIn — lets the main post reach more people while the link stays one tap below it. On X there is a second benefit: a reply is cheaper to post than a link in the main post, so this also keeps your posting cost down.

How to use it on X

  1. Write your thread as usual, with at least two posts.
  2. Put your link in the last post — for example, a short "Read the full thing here: <link>".
  3. When the link is detected, the Put link in first reply checkbox appears and is turned on for you. Leave it checked.
  4. Schedule or post the thread. Feedjot publishes the main thread, then posts the link as a reply to your first post.

To keep the link in the body instead, uncheck Put link in first reply before you schedule. Feedjot remembers that choice for the thread and will not turn it back on.

How to use it on LinkedIn

On LinkedIn, the same control is labeled Put link / CTA in first comment. Turn it on and Feedjot adds a second box for the comment text. Your main post goes up as one organic post, and your link or call to action is posted as the first comment underneath it (up to 1,250 characters).

You'll know it worked when…

On X, your opening post is live and the link appears as a reply directly beneath it. On LinkedIn, your post is live and the link shows as the first comment.

When it doesn't apply

The option only appears when it can be used: on X it needs a thread of two or more posts with a link in it. A single post with a link has nowhere to put a reply, so the link stays in the post.
